Ball Ground is located in Cherokee County, and has nearly 2000 residents. Ball Ground is officially a Georgia Main Street Community, and is focused on the revitalization of its quaint downtown area. This city is located at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. In 2012 Ball Ground opened a new 1,200 Student Capacity Elementary School, providing state-of-the-art learning environment for their children.
The downtown area has several dining options to choose from. A local favorite is the Ball Ground Burger Bus.
Gibbs Gardens is located in Ball Ground. Over 220 Acres of landscaped gardens, spring -fed ponds, streams and waterfalls and bridge crossings are part of this fantastic family venue.
